The US ambassador to Moscow, Lynne M. Tracy, was summoned on Tuesday at the Russian Foreign Ministry where a demarche was presented to her over Washington’s role in the conflict in Ukraine, Russian media report.
As the document posted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry says, the head of the American diplomatic mission was summoned to the Ministry and presented with a demarche in connection with the growing involvement of the United States in hostilities on the side of the Kyiv regime.
While claiming that the United States is not part of the conflict, Washington has poured billions into Ukraine, supplying its armed forces with vast amounts of military equipment and intel data to Kyiv since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The note of protest, according to the diplomats, also emphasizes that the inconsistency and falsity of Washington’s claims that the US is not a party to the conflict is clearly proven by them giving Kyiv targeting instructions for strikes against Russian troops and civilian infrastructure.
The Foreign Ministry noted that the current aggressive US policy aimed at deepening confrontation with Russia was counterproductive.
Stressing that Washington should ensure de-escalation of the situation by withdrawing the US and NATO troops and military equipment from Ukraine, Moscow pointed out that both the weapons supplied to Kyiv, as well as the service personnel – including US citizens- were a legitimate target for the Russian troops.
Furthermore, the Foreign Ministry said that not only the American side should stop interfering in the objective investigation to identify those responsible for the Nord Stream pipeline blast, but it also should give explanations about the explosions.
The announcement by the Russian FM came after Russian President Vladimir Putin attacked in his major speech the US and the West over their increasing support to Ukraine amid the raging conflict, asserting that they’re trying to inflict strategic defeat on Russia.
