In a shooting at Oxford High School in November of last year that attracted national attention and sparked speculation about his parents’ potential involvement, a Michigan boy pled guilty on Monday to 24 crimes, including terrorism and first-degree murder. He also injured seven other classmates.

During his Monday court appearance, Oakland County, Michigan, assistant prosecuting attorney Marc Keast repeatedly questioned 16-year-old Ethan Crumbley if he shot and murdered each of the victims. Keast named each victim as he explained the charges, The Hill reports.

He is accused of one crime of terrorism resulting in “death, four counts of first-degree murder, seven counts of assault with the intent to murder”, and twelve counts of possessing a handgun during the commission of a felony. If convicted of all charges, he may spend the rest of his life behind bars.

“Is it true that when you exited the bathroom, you began shooting at students and staff members at Oxford High School,” Keast asked, to which Crumbley said “yes.”

The suspect has the right, as a minor, to argue for a reduced sentence and the possibility of parole, according to The Associated Press.
