President and First Lady Safely Evacuated after Private Jet Breach

According to the White House, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden were momentarily evacuated from their holiday home on Saturday after a tiny private jet breached restricted airspace above Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Reuters reported.

According to US Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi, the private jet was quickly taken out of the restricted airspace. He said the pilot, who remained anonymous, will be interrogated.

“A preliminary investigation reveals the pilot was not on the proper radio channel, was not following the NOTAMS (Notice to Airmen) that had been filed, and was not following published flight guidance,” he said, as quoted by Reuters.

The event, which happened soon before 1 p.m. ET (1700 GMT) on a busy Saturday, generated chaos in downtown Rehoboth Beach, with the presidential convoy rushing through town before returning to the Bidens’ home.

According to a Secret Service officer, precautionary security steps were implemented, but the president was not in any danger.
