One person was killed and eight people were injured in a shootout at a strip mall in Phoenix, Arizona, early Saturday morning, The Hill reported.
According to authorities, two female victims are being treated for life-threatening wounds, while another died from serious injuries sustained during the incident.
Six other individuals were injured in the incident, including a teenage kid, although their injuries are not life-threatening. They were all sent to nearby hospitals.
According to footage provided by ABC15, a brawl broke out amid a “big gathering” of about 100 individuals at the strip mall, which escalated into gunfire. No suspects have been apprehended by the police.
According to authorities, the incident happened around midnight in the city’s north end.
Police said there is a “lot” of physical evidence to be examined as part of their investigation into the incident, which is based on security recordings and other information.
This comes after a slew of previous shootings throughout the country, including last week’s shooting at a primary school in Uvalde, Texas, and last month’s massacre at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York.
At Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, 19 students and two educators were killed in a shooting.
Following the incident, the Texas state government established investigating committees both in House and Senate this week with the goal of preventing similar shootings and improving school security.
In a racially charged assault, the Buffalo shooter went to a predominately Black neighborhood and killed 10 people.
