According to an Associated Press poll, President Joe Biden’s approval rating has dropped to its lowest level since taking office in May, Fox News informed.
Only 39% of respondents in the United States approve of Biden’s performance as president, according to the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Research poll.
Overall, only around 2 in 10 adults believe the United States is on the right track or that the economy is doing well, down from around 3 in 10 a month ago.
The losses were concentrated among Democrats, with only 33% thinking the country is heading in the right direction, which is down from 49% in April.
Biden’s overall support score among Democrats is 73 percent, down from 82 percent in the same survey last year.
In 2021, Biden’s approval rating among Democrats never fell below 82 percent.
Biden had a 63 percent approval rating in the same Associated Press poll last year, which was 24 points higher than it is now.
According to the study, one of the main reasons for Biden’s low approval ratings is his handling of the economy, with two-thirds of US citizens disapproving of his handling of the situation.
Furthermore, only 18 percent of Americans believe Biden’s policies have benefited the economy more than they have damaged it, down from 24 percent in March.
In the meantime, 51 percent of Americans believe his actions have harmed more people than they have helped, while 30% believe he has made no difference.
The majority of American citizens also disapprove of Biden’s handling of other topics such as the Ukraine conflict, the US-Russia relationship, and immigration issues.
The AP-NORC survey of 1,172 individuals was conducted from May 12 to 16, with participants taken from NORC’s probability-based AmeriSpeak Panel.
For all respondents, the margin of error is +/- 4.0 percentage points.
Since January, Biden’s poor polling has become a trend, with many polls indicating that Americans of all political stripes are upset with issues ranging from record-high gas prices and the historic inflation to the nationwide infant formula scarcity.
