After military authorities presented scant new material in the first UFO hearing in Congress in 50 years, Rep. Tim Burchett claimed the Pentagon is not being forthright enough with Congress and the public when it comes to UFOs, Fox News informed.
Bray and Moultrie presented lawmakers with declassified footage of UFOs, which are officially known as unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP).
Bray also stated that the military wants to strike a balance between “transparency” and “our national security needs.”
According to the government, UAP “probably lacks a single reason.”
So yet, neither classified nor unclassified government reports rule out space aliens.
However, “airborne clutter” such as birds and balloons, “natural atmospheric phenomena” such as ice crystals, highly classified US government programs, or “foreign enemy systems” from Russia, or China, or some other countries are also conceivable reasons.
Burchett, who is not a member of the Intelligence Committee but was present at the hearing on Tuesday, said neither the video nor the evidence were sufficient.
Burchett also stated that some members “couldn’t answer questions.”
He also expressed regret that, although doing their best, Bray and Moultrie may not have had an access to “compartmentalized” material that is kept secret in the government only for a narrow circle of people who need to know it.
Burchett’s appraisal of the hearing was not shared by all House members.
Rep. Mike Gallagher, R-Wis., who is a member of the Intelligence Committee and grilled Bray and Moultrie, said the meeting was a step forward in resolving the UAP issue.
Burchett hadn’t talked about UFOs on Tuesday for the first time.
He’s previously spoken out on the subject.
His campaign store even sells T-shirts with the words “Believe” and a picture of a space craft.
“I feel there’s something else out there,” Burchett answered when asked if he believed in aliens.
Burchett also ruled out the notion that UFOs were sent by a significant foreign power.
