Valerie Biden Owens, US President Joe Biden’s younger sister, supported her nephew Hunter Biden as a victim of conservative attacks in the wake of the issue over his infamous laptop and charges of financial impropriety, Fox News informed.
When asked if her nephew is to blame for the controversies, Owens answered USA Today, “No.”
Last Thursday, the president’s younger sister began a book tour in support of her new memoir, “Growing Up Biden: A Memoir.” Owens has been a longstanding political confidante of the president, serving as his campaign manager for all seven of his Senate elections and counseling her brother throughout each of his three presidential campaigns.
Hunter Biden has maintained a low profile in the recent weeks as Republicans on Capitol Hill press for an investigation into his international business connections. Since the New York Post published a bombshell revelation on the contents of a laptop he left at a Delaware repair shop ahead of the 2020 presidential election, the financial activities have been widely reported.
According to the report, Owens rejects the possibility that the worst is still yet to come for the Biden family.
Owens’ family was aware of her “nervousness” before the interview with USA TODAY, according to the report, and her brother James Biden and his wife Sarah “surprisingly” came up at the interview to provide “moral support.”
Last month, GOP Senators Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson moved to the Senate floor to raise concerns about Hunter Biden’s financial ties to the Chinese government.
The contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop were revealed in a bombshell revelation by the New York Post in 2020, which was mostly ignored by the media at the time as “Russian misinformation.” After publications like The Washington Post and The New York Times validated thousands of his emails in 2022, leftist media outlets changed their tune.
