The federal government’s investigation of Hunter Biden should be expanded to include the University of Pennsylvania’s Biden Center, according to an ethical watchdog group, Fox News informed.
According to the National Legal and Policy Center, the United States Attorney for the District of Delaware, David C. Weiss, should look into the University of Pennsylvania’s Biden Center and the Truman National Security Project to see if they were involved in political actions on behalf of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma and Chinese interests, which would be illegal under the Foreign Agents Registration Act.
According to the watchdog group, at least $22 million in anonymous Chinese donations were provided to the University of Pennsylvania, which it believes “may have been designated to advance Chinese interests” and would have required registration as a foreign agent.
The group claimed that Chinese donations increased after the Penn Biden Center launched in February 2018, including a single $14.8 million anonymous contribution.
The university continued to receive high-priced donations from China, with over $27 million in 2018 and over $26 million in 2019. Almost $16 million was given anonymously in 2018, while $6 million was given anonymously in 2019.
According to a complaint lodged with the Department of Justice in 2020, Ambassador Huang Ping, Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in New York, gave the opening comments at the fourth annual 2020 Penn China Research Symposium.
According to the watchdog, the Department of Justice should examine these donations, according to the complaint.
Hunter Biden’s federal investigation has heated up in recent weeks, with prosecutors from the United States Attorney’s Office in Delaware seeking grand jury testimony about Biden’s foreign earnings, which include the Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma Holdings Ltd.
The stream of emails from the laptop of Hunter Biden, which were initially reported by the New York Post, has been verified by major media publications such as the New York Times and the Washington Post.
