Zelensky asked the public in Ukraine to support the national armed forces – including by taking up arms and preparing for a fight – and promised to lift previously imposed personal sanctions from anyone – including some political opponents – willing to defend Ukraine with arms.

He called on all able-bodied Ukrainians to report for duty at mobilization centers, pointing out that the government is already distributing weapons to everyone willing to defend Ukraine’s sovereignty.
