Texas Man Kills Family and Himself in Shooting Frenzy

On Saturday, a man from a Texas suburb killed four members of his family, including a kid, before committing suicide. The nighttime gunfire frenzy in Navarro County is suspected to have wounded three more people.

Kevin Milazzo, 41, was identified as the suspect by police on Saturday evening, The Hill reported.

The family members Milazzo killed were reported to be his 68-year-old stepfather, William Mimms; his 61-year-old mother, Connie Mimms; his 21-year-old son Joshua Milazzo; and his ex-partner’s 4-year-old child Hunter Freeman, according to officers.

Police were called to a shooting scene in Corsicana, some 55 miles outside of Dallas, shortly after midnight on Saturday. According to the Daily Sun, police reacted to another gunshot shortly after in the adjacent town of Frost.

A man and a woman were shot and murdered in Corsicana, while another man and a kid were shot and killed in Frost, according to Corsicana Police Chief Robert Johnson. Two more individuals were injured in the Corsicana shooting, and one more was injured in the Frost incident, all of whom are in serious condition.

Milazzo was reportedly on the run after the shootings, according to ABC station WFAA. Police stopped the Texas man on the side of the road and utilized a monitoring service to turn off his motor. Milazzo was seriously injured by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head as they approached the car. He was taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and died.
