Moderna Gives Mexico Donation of 2.7 mn Vaccine Doses

Moderna has given 2.7 million coronavirus vaccine doses to Mexico, where instances are on the rise.

The Moderna contributions came on Saturday at an airport in Toluca, after the country topped 300,000 total verified coronavirus fatalities this week, according to The Associated Press.

The dosages will be given to instructors, according to the administration, as the country attempts to revert to purely in-person schooling.

The donations followed Mexico’s approval of Cuba’s coronavirus booster vaccine at the end of December.

Mexico has completely immunized 57 percent of its people and has authorized the use of ten different vaccinations.

Coronavirus cases have increased globally due to the development of the more infectious omicron form. However, preliminary research indicates that the new variety is less dangerous than prior strains of the virus.
