Twitter has suspended on Thursday the account of Dr. Robert Malone, a veteran vaccine researcher and one of the most prominent voices of skepticism on the issue of vaccine mandates against Covid-19, for alleged violation of rules that Twitter refused to comment on.
It’s still unclear if the suspension of Malone’s account, which had over 516,000 followers when the platform silenced him, was automatic or done by a human, but the doctor said it meant that he “must’ve been on the mark, so to speak.”
Dr. Malone wrote that by suspending his account, the platform took away from them a critical component in their fight to stop vaccines mandates for children, the corruption in their governments, and the medical-industrial complex and pharmaceutical industries.
He also encouraged his followers to listen to his interview on the Joe Rogan podcast later on Thursday,
As a veteran virologist and vaccine developer, Malone has contributed significantly to the invention of the mRNA technology the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines against Covid-19 are based on, but during the pandemic, he also emerged as a prominent critic of many of the policies aimed at preventing the spread of the SARS-CoV-2.
He strongly opposes vaccination in healthy young people, especially children, believing the risks outweigh the benefits of the protection against the virus but, at the same time advocates vaccinations of people in the high-risk groups, like the elderlies or people with comorbidities.
Malone believes that many of the policies are not based on science – such as jab mandates or vaccine hoarding by wealthy countries- and strongly criticized the influence that Big Pharma and wealthy individuals like Bill Gates have on global health affairs.
Twitter has implemented policies against health misinformation on its platform just like other US-based social media, so it’s possible the platform reacted to one of the many complaints of critics who believe Malone was spreading misinformation and was encouraging anti-vaxers with his skeptical statements.
