News NPR/PBS poll conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies has found that, as inflation is beginning to pinch, just 41% of Americans approve the job President Joe Biden’s doing , which is near-historic low point in Biden’s rating.
The questionnaire the London-based market research firm conducted on December 18 among 1,500 American adults, found that 44 percent of Americans disapprove his job.
According to NBC News/WSJ and CNBC surveys conducted at the time Trump’s approval rating during his 11th month in office in December 2017, for comparison, balanced between 41 and 42%.
The poll’s results also show that if an election were held today, former president Trump would handily defeat Biden by a whopping six points in a time when the Congress is in deadlock in over his $1.75 trillion Build Back Better social and climate spending package and the new COVID strain is spiking.
In a hypothetical matchup, Biden is trailing behind Trump by 38 percent to 44 percent, while 12 % had difficulty making up their mind and additional 5 % said they’d pick a third party.
The approval rating of Vice-President Kamala Harris is even lower than Biden’s sitting at 37%, though it’s actually up 4 points from 33% approval two weeks earlier.
