McCarthy Lacks Full Support to Be Speaker, Rep. Greene Claims

Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene(R-Ga.) has once again blasted House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy during a podcast discussion on Thursday, claiming he doesn’t have the full support from the GOP to be Speaker.

She pointed in her talk with Rep. Gaetz (R-Fla.) in “Firebrand with Matt Gaetz” podcast that McCarthy has a problem in their conference and doesn’t have the votes since there’s many that are very unhappy about his failure to hold Republicans accountable, while conservatives like Paul Gosar, herself and many others constantly take the Democrats’ abuse.

Taylor Greene also took aim at McCarthy over the fact that House Democrats and close to a dozen Republicans stripped her of her two committee assignments in February for allegedly endorsing violence against Democratic lawmakers on top of her previously expressed support for QAnon and other conspiracy theories.

She accused him for taking no action to defend her or to stop the actions while she was stripped of assignments as a brand new Congress member and her district was taken the opportunity to have representation working on committees.

Her colleague Paul Gosar also lost his committee assignments – without McCarthy trying to intervene in his defence –after he shared a photoshopped anime video of him killing Democratic Rep. Ocasio-Cortez.

McCarthy, who was unavailable for comment after the podcast talk, have pledged that if Republicans achieved a majority again in the House in 2022, both Gosar and she would have committee assignments restored and may even have better committee assignments.
