LUNCHTIME POLITICS: Late Lunch Edition – Virginia, New Jersey, NYC Updates

Your Daily Polling Update for Monday, November 1, 2021

BIDEN JOB APPROVAL: AVERAGE 44%
Same as Friday

RON’S COMMENT: Today’s average is based on six polls, ranging from 42% (The Hill, Rasmussen) to 46% (Politico). Biden’s disapproval rating averages 51% today (down 1 from Friday), putting him at 7 points net negative.

VIRGINIA: GOVERNOR 2021
Among voters statewide

(Fox 5 DC) Glenn Youngkin (R) over Terry McAuliffe (D): +2 (47-45)
(Trafalgar-R) Glenn Youngkin (R) over Terry McAuliffe (D): +2 (49-47)
(Roanoke College) Terry McAuliffe (D) and Glenn Youngkin (R): +1 (47-46)

RON’S COMMENT: The average lead has now switched to Youngkin, at +1.7 points, based on the six latest polls. Excluding the Fox News poll that had him 8 points ahead, Youngkin’s average lead based on the five remaining polls is an extremely tight four-tenths of a point…. The Trafalgar (R) and Fox 5 DC polls are the most recent. The election is tomorrow.

NEW JERSEY: GOVERNOR 2021
Among voters statewide

(Trafalgar-R) Gov. Phil Murphy (D) over Jack Ciatterelli (R): +4 (49-45)
(Farleigh Dickinson) Gov. Phil Murphy (D) over Jack Ciatterelli (R): +9 (53-44)

RON’S COMMENT: The average of the four most recent polls puts Murphy ahead by 8.3 points. The election is tomorrow.

NEW YORK CITY: MAYOR 2021
Among voters citywide

Eric Adams (D) over Curtis Sliwa (R): +36 (61-25)

RON’S COMMENT: By all accounts, Adams should win easily. There has been very little public polling in the race.
