Riyadh, Washington Discuss Iran Nuclear Deal

An exchange of views on Iran’s nuclear program took place in Washington between Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Saudi media reported.

The parties also discussed international negotiations on the deal, the Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“Today we had a productive meeting with my friend, Secretary of State Blinken, during which we discussed many issues of common interest, as well as ways to strengthen our strategic partnership and cooperation on many fronts,” Al Saud tweeted on Friday.

Al Saud also met with US Special Envoy to Iran, Robert Malley, and discussed stepping up joint efforts to combat “Iran’s violations of international treaties related to the nuclear agreement,” the Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry said.

On October 15, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom, Prince Faisal bin Farhan said that the negotiations between Saudi Arabia and Iran were “cordial”.
