Democratic Lawmakers Vote to Allow Some Immigrants to Work in Congress

Democratic lawmakers have approved a big legislative budget that will allow Congress members to employ illegal immigrants as their staffers on Capitol Hill, Fox News informed.

Democratic Representative Tim Ryan from Ohio noted that the funding legislation will include permissions for immigrants that are recipients of DACA, to be allowed to apply for jobs in Congress and other agencies.

According to some estimates, there are 800,000 Dreamers, children who were illegally brought into the United States, and protected not to be deported with the DACA program (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals).

Earlier this month, a federal judge issued a ruling that DACA is illegal and directed the administration of President Biden to halt all the processes and new applications for the program.
