Washington DC Mayor Reveals Plan to Reinforce MPD with 170 New Officers

The Mayor of Washington DC Muriel Bowser revealed her plans on Wednesday to reinforce the police forces by adding 170 police officers in the wake of increased violence and shootings that occurred in the city, Fox News informed.

The Democratic mayor wrote a statement saying that she had directed the MPD to put in use every overtime in order to meet the safety demands of the public.

The statement also said that the mayor is planning to engage 170 new officers in the MPD by the year 2022.

Bowser said that they are aware the this is not a long-term solution, and that they want every officer to feel fresh, rested and to be able to make well-based decisions.
