The office of Ron DeSantis, the Governor of Florida, harshly rebuked the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) for requiring all the children, no matter if they are fully vaccinated or not, should wear face coverings when the school year starts, Fox News informed.
Rochelle Walensky, the CDC Director on Tuesday disclosed that Covid-19 cases are once again increased due to the new, delta strain, and the new changes in the policies will recommend some people who are fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in some exceptional situations as a matter of additional protection.
Christina Pushaw, the DeSantis press secretary argued that the new guidelines are not based on science and that there is no evidence that areas with mask mandates have fewer cases than areas without them, adding that this new policy might even backfire.
