Tim Walz, the Governor of Minnesota along with other State Democrats urged state Democratic Representative John Thompson to submit his resignation after his past allegations of domestic abuse that were revealed on Friday, Fox News informed.
The lawmaker was already involved in numerous controversies that include a suspended driver’s license, owning a residence out of his district, and suspect claims of racial profiling against police officers after he was stopped.
Thompson was accused of choking and hitting women, sometimes even in the presence of young children, and of exposing himself, according to FOX 9 in Minneapolis.
