Ocasio-Cortez Introduces Legislation to Publicly Report Data on Race, Sexual Orientation and Ethnicity

Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from New York on Tuesday revealed legislation that is set to publicly report data on the race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation of political figures, Fox New informed.

The move comes as an effort to establish a more diverse administration.

PAID (Political Appointments Inclusion and Diversity) Act would oblige the Office of Personnel Management to reveal a general analysis of the appointee demographics.

The data provided is already available to the public but now it would be much more accessible.

The report is set to cover self-identified information about race, ethnic background, sexual orientation, gender, tribal affiliation, veteran status, disability, and age.

It would also not reveal the identities of the individual public officials.
