House Democrats Set to Vote on Select Committee to Investigate January 6 Attack on Capitol

The House of Representatives is set to hold a vote on Wednesday on the issue of establishing a select panel to probe the January 6 Capitol attack, Fox News informed.

According to Republicans, the move is most likely to push a partisan agenda and not seek for the truth.

Nancy Pelosi, the House Speaker, revealed the resolution earlier this week after the efforts for creating a bipartisan special panel was obstructed in the Senate without having enough votes from the Republicans.

Pelosi said that this unilateral move is more than necessary due to the fact that there are no chances of getting more votes from GOP senators to establish this special committee that will probe the Attack on January 6.

Steny Hoyer, the House Majority Leader said that he really hopes that the panel members will pursue the truth, and not consider the mob that attacked the Capitol as some group of tourists that came to see how the government works.

Hoyer added that the Capitol was attacked by an insurrection violent mob that attempted to obstruct democratic processes.
