David Chipman Too Political to Lead ATF, Current Agents, Former Director Claim

Several current and former members of ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) said that they are concerned over US President Joe Biden’s nominee to head this agency, Fox News first informed.

Michael Sullivan, a former ATF Director and a current ATF member who expressed his wish to stay anonymous, said that they feel concerned that President’s nominee David Chipman is too political to be the head of an unbiased agency.

Senate Judiciary Committee is set to hold a vote on Chipman’s nomination to head the agency on Thursday. Chipman served as a special agent to the ATF for 25 years and is now working in the gun-violence prevention group Giffords as a senior policy adviser.
