Republican Representative Glenn Grothman from Wisconsin proposed a bill on Friday that is set to ban public schools in Washington, D.C. from teaching a controversial race theory that considers systematic racism is a feature that is defining for American history and society, Fox News informed.
Grothman claimed that the critical race theory is teaching children to hate among each other and hate US as well.
He stated that the race theory would teach students that they are defined by their skin color, and not their character.
Lawmakers in the Congress have jurisdiction to enact laws that will be enforced in the capital, as Washington D.C. is not US state.
