Saudi Arabia to Host the World Martial Arts Games 2023

The capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, will host the World Martial Arts Games (WCG) in 2023, an international multi-sport event in which 15 combat sports and martial arts competitions will take place, Forbes reported.

According to GAISF Multisport Chair and GAISF Vice President Stephen Fox, Saudi Arabia is the ideal choice for this event, which showcases the exchange of cultures from around the world and is a perfect bridge between elite sports and local communities.

“The proposal submitted by Saudi Arabia is compelling and inspiring. The vision of this event will create a festive atmosphere. There will be seminars of leading martial arts masters, educational conferences, including the first World Martial Arts Gala, in which the legends of martial arts and combat sports will be honored,” Fox said.

The agreement was signed during a special ceremony at the General Assembly of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee (SAOC), in which all recognized national martial arts and combat sports federations took part.
