US Condemns Belarus for Diverting Commercial Flight

Antony Blinken, the US Secretary of State fiercely condemned the Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus over the allegations that he was behind the order to divert commercial flight with an opposition figure on board, Fox News informed.

Lukashenko ordered fighter jets Mig-29 who were thought to be addressing a bomb threat, but there was no bomb discovered. The opposition member was later detained in Minsk. Many critics described the action as a hijacking performed by the government.

In a tweet Blinken wrote that US fiercely condemns the act of Lukashenko’s regime to divert a flight in order to arrest an opposition figure, demanding an international probe that will investigate this appalling act.
