Greene Apologizes to GOP for Embracing QAnon Conspiracies

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) received a standing ovation from some of her colleagues, after apologizing for her past controversial remarks and her embrace of the QAnon conspiracy theories, during a closed-door House GOP conference meeting, reported The Hill.

According to two sources at the meeting, Greene said that she made a mistake by being curious about “Q” and she learned a lesson about what to put on social media.

Green defended her comments about the past school shootings being staged by stating that she had personal experience with a school shooting, and she also said that she didn’t know what Jewish space lasers were?

After finishing her remarks she received a standing ovation from some members of the caucus.

The House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has so far taken no disciplinary actions against Greene, but the House will vote Thursday on removing her from House Budget and Labor and Education committees, where she was placed by Republicans.

Greene has been criticized for giving false statements, comments on conspiracy theories and other controversial remarks.

In remarks revealed by various outlets, Greene supports the QAnon conspiracy theory, that places Democrats and Hollywood celebrities in an international child sex scandal; suggest that California’s wild fires were caused by a space laser; argues that school shootings were staged; supports violence against Democrats.

She was criticized by GOP senators which suggested that she should not be a face of the party, as many Republicans were embarrassed by the controversies.

While Democrats are doing their best to link the GOP to Greene and her controversial statements, even mocking McCarthy by calling him the leader of the QAnon party, the Republicans have not taken any tougher disciplinary actions.

According to one source at the conference Greene, even being apologetic in her remarks, said that nothing she said would please the media or Democrats.
