Utah Rep ‘Not Leaving The House for Anything’ after COVID-19 Diagnosis

Utah Representative Ben McAdams made a statement early Thursday that he and his family are complying with the guidelines for coronavirus quarantine “to the ‘T'” after tests turned out he was positive with the disease.

In an interview with NBC’s “Today” show, McAdams said that he and his family would not leave their home for any reason for the duration of his quarantine, The Hill reported.

“We were social distancing. Now, it’s a full-on quarantine. We are not leaving the house for anything. We want to follow the CDC guidelines to the ‘T’,” McAdams said.

McAdams also said that he is “concerned” about members of Congress who were present on Saturday when he and Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.), who has also tested positive for the virus, voted on the House floor.

“What I’ve been told by the House physician is that anyone who had close contact with me from Friday onward should be concerned,” McAdams said.

“There aren’t a lot of members with whom I had close contact,” he added. “But members [with] whom I had close contact…yeah there’s a concern there.”
