United States Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook said in a statement for Saudi-owned Al Arabiya TV that Tehran has spent $16 billion on its “militias” deployed in Iraq and Syria.
According to Reuters, Special Rep. Hook did not give any further details on the militias or say when Iran had spent the money.
