Trump Insists ‘There is No Racial Tension’ Caused by Attacks on Democratic Lawmakers

After various accusations of racism towards the black community due to recent events, President Trump said on Monday that there is no racial tension because of his attacks on four Democratic lawmakers, which many people from the U.S. and the world labeled as racist.

Earlier on Monday, he tweeted that the four women in Congress are a very racist group of troublemakers who are young, inexperienced, and not very smart.

Trump was asked about the consequences of his actions for telling the lawmakers to go back to their home countries and whether he might lose African-American votes, he said that he will gain the support next year in the presidential election because the economy is doing good.

‘’There is no racial tension. We have a fantastic relationship with the African-American community and I think you’ll see that in 2020,’’ Trump said.

Trump doubled down on his attacks on Democratic Reps. Ilhan Omar (Minn.), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Rashida Tlaib (Mich.) and Ayanna Pressley (Mass.) when asked why he continues to escalate the feud, according to The Hill.

‘’I think they are very bad for our country. I think they must hate our country,’’ said Trump, adding that he thinks that the four Representatives are bad for the Democratic party itself because they are pulling it to the left.
