MEDICARE-FOR-ALL

Do you think extending Medicare to everyone would lower the cost of healthcare, raise the cost of healthcare or have no effect on the cost?

Raise the cost: 41%
Lower the cost: 39%
Have no effect on cost: 20%

Do you think Medicare for all would require higher taxes, lower taxes or have no effect on taxes?

Higher taxes: 65%
Lower taxes: 13%
Have no effect on taxes: 22%

RON’S COMMENT: While 64% of all voters favor the general concept of Medicare-for-all, when you dig deeper you find that a few more voters believe it would raise rather than lower healthcare costs. Also, 65% believe it would require higher taxes…. When voters are asked whether they want to abolish all private healthcare in favor of a government-run, single-payer program, 44% favor it and 56% oppose it. Democrats favor such an approach, 55-45.
