RON’S COMMENT: Today’s average is based on six polls, ranging from 40% (Monmouth/Reuters) to 50% (Rasmussen). Without these two extremes, it would be 45%…. President Trump’s disapproval rating averages 53% today (+2 from yesterday), which is 9 points higher than his approval rating.

RON’S COMMENT: Biden and Buttigieg are the only two Democrats listed who register a net positive rating among all voters (which includes Republicans, independents and Democrats)…. All of these Democratic candidates do well within their party’s electorate…. Schultz, who is gearing up a presidential run as an independent, has a net negative rating among independents of two-to-one and a net negative rating among all voters that’s a bit worse.

FAVORABILITY RATINGS

Julian Assange: 23%/53% 
Edward Snowden: 29%/46%
Chelsea Manning: 22%/49%
 
RON’S COMMENT: Assange has the worst negative rating of these three. His favorable rating is 18% among Democrats and independents, and 29% among Republicans. His unfavorable rating is 50% among Democrats, 37% among independents, and 45% among Republicans.

TRUMP AND IMMIGRATION

RON’S COMMENT: 52% of voters say Trump has not been tough enough or that he’s been about right…. However, when the question is about the administration’s handling of legal immigrants, the results are 43% too tough, 17% not tough enough and 32% about right.

Some people think it would be a good idea for the U.S. to close the southern border to pressure Mexico to stop the flow of migrants and illegal drugs to the U.S. Other people think closing the southern border would hurt the U.S. economy too much. RON’S COMMENT: 15% of Democrats, 58% of Republicans and 23% of independents say they think it is either very or extremely likely that U.S. intelligence agencies, like the FBI, broke the law in how they investigated the Trump campaign.
