RON’S COMMENT: Today’s average is based on six polls, ranging from 39% (Reuters) to 50% (Rasmussen). Without these two extremes, it would still be 45%….President Trump’s disapproval rating averages 53% today, which is 8 points higher than his approval rating.

RON’S COMMENT: 42% of Democrats, 8% of Republicans and 17% of independents support the general concept of the Green New Deal, which is a wide-ranging package of economic, social, environmental, land use, labor and trade goals and policies mostly advocated by politicians and groups on the left side of the Democratic Party…. Also, 4% of Democrats, 54% of Republicans and 24% of independents oppose the general concept.

Looking at elements of the Green New Deal:

RON’S COMMENT: 82% of Democrats and 63% of Republicans support this goal, which is the most popular element of the Green New Deal that was tested in this poll. Note that most of these poll questions don’t explain how these goals will be achieved.

Making public investments in the research and development of new clean and renewable energy technologies and industries.

Support: 66%
Oppose: 17%

RON’S COMMENT: 75% of Democrats and 44% of Republicans support this goal.

Providing all people of the United States with high-quality health care; affordable, safe, and adequate housing; economic security; and access to clean water, clean air, healthy and affordable food, and nature.

RON’S COMMENT: 80% of Democrats and 32% of Republicans support this goal.

Directing investments to spur economic development, deepen and diversify industry in local and regional economies, and build wealth and community ownership, while prioritizing high-quality job creation and economic, social, and environmental benefits in frontline and vulnerable communities that may otherwise struggle with the transition away from greenhouse gas intensive industries.
