Trump’s Remarks Were Appalling, Says Senator Flake

Arizona Senator Jeff Flake slammed his Republican peer President Donald Trump for deriding Christine Blasey Ford and her testimony regarding Brett Kavanaugh’s sexual misconduct. According to Flake, Trump’s speech was “appalling.”

Speaking at the NBC Today Show, Flake said that the President’s remarks were unnecessary to be spoken about at a rally, as it is a very sensitive subject.

“There’s no time and no place for comments like that,” Flake said. “And to discuss something this sensitive at a political rally is just not right. I wish he hadn’t done it. It’s kind of appalling.”

During the rally in Southaven, Mississippi, Trump imitated Ford’s appearance at the Senate Judiciary Committee and claimed that her allegations were false and not credible due to the fact that Ford was unable to state the exact time and place the assault occurred.

“’I had one beer!’” Trump said, imitating Ford. “How did you get home? ‘I don’t remember’. How did you get there? ‘I don’t remember’. Where is the place? ‘I don’t remember’. How many years ago was it? ‘I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know’!”

Kavanaugh has been denying Ford’s allegations repeatedly.
