On Friday Krystal Ball, the host on Hill TV, criticized Donald Trump Jr. and Dinesh D’Souza for their remarks where they compared the Democrats with the Nazis. Ball confronted them by saying that the statements are not helping the U.S. to move forward.
“I’m not okay with people on the left comparing Trump to Hitler. No one in modern America is like Hitler. We are not heading to the Holocaust,” Ball told co-host Buck Sexton on “Rising.”
“I think it is entirely fair for Dinesh or the president’s son to make that point,” she added.
“But why, and how is it helpful, to then turn around and say ‘no, the real Nazis and the real racists that we have to save the country from, which is the whole point of the movie are the Democrats’? I mean, how does that help? How does that help the country? How does that move us forward,” she added.
“I think they view it as fighting back against an unfair narrative,” Sexton responded.
“Someone has to de-escalate. Yeah, it is an unfair narrative. I think there are things that are unprecedented with this president that are troubling and erode the democracy, that is very different than saying he is Hitler. So make that case, but why to turn around and say Democrats are Nazis,” Ball said.
According to The Hill, Ball’s criticism is a response to President Donald Trump’s son who commented that the Democratic Party’s modern-day platform was “awfully similar” to the Nazi Party’s platform in the 1930s.
Meanwhile, D’Souza, a known conservative commentator and filmmaker, made the same comparison in his new film “Death of a Nation: Can We Save America a Second Time?”
