Dinesh D’Souza Retweets #BurnTheJews on Twitter to Promote His New Movie

A conservative filmmaker pardoned by President Donald Trump has been slammed for retweeting Twitter posts with the hashtags #burntheJews and #bringbackslavery, Newsweek reports. Dinesh D’Souza, who has mocked the survivors of the Parkland, Florida, school shooting and suggested Rosie O’Donnell should be prosecuted for her campaign donations, was pardoned by Trump in May.

D’Souza was recently pardoned by President Trump for illegal campaign contributions he made on behalf of conservative candidates running for office. He had been given five years of probation with eight months to be served in a community confinement center—or halfway house—after pleading guilty to a federal charge of making illegal campaign contributions in 2014. D’Souza stated that the charge was politically motivated.

Right-wing conservative D’Souza is no stranger to controversy but his retweet on June 30 went far beyond his normal rhetoric, Hill Reporter adds. D’Souza, busily promoting his new movie which claims Donald Trump is the new Abraham Lincoln, shared a tweet that used the hashtag #BurnTheJews.

The original tweet was shared by RedManDan84, a Twitter account that has since been deleted. The hashtag offending tweet also included a trailer to D’Souza’s newest movie. D’Souza retweeted RedManDan84’s tweet and only deleted it after being called out for the hashtag. D’Souza later claimed he didn’t read the full tweet before sharing it.

Sadly, D’Souza’s tweet probably would have played well with his base had he not deleted it after receiving criticism.
