One of the several women that have accused President Donald Trump of sexual misconduct said on Tuesday, during an interview with CNN, that she was not surprised he attacked her on Twitter adding that the president should be afraid of the truth.
The woman in question is Rachel Crooks, and the accusation is that Trump tried to forcibly kiss her during a meeting in Trump Tower in 2006.
“I would think as our president he would have more important things to do than tweet at me and try to discredit my story. I know what’s true. He knows what’s true, and I think he should be afraid of that,” Rachel Crooks said on CNN, adding that it is frightening to speak against the presidents but she feels that it’s her right to share her story.
“When the truth is on your side it doesn’t feel as bad. And I feel like I have a license to say what I feel about him given what he did to me,” she said.
On Tuesday morning, Trump dismissed the accusations on Twitter.
“A woman I don’t know and, to the best of my knowledge, never met, is on the FRONT PAGE of the Fake News Washington Post saying I kissed her (for two minutes yet) in the lobby of Trump Tower 12 years ago,” the president wrote on Twitter.
According to The Hill, Crooks has accused Trump of forcing himself on her on the 24th floor of Trump Tower, not in the lobby. She responded Tuesday afternoon to the president’s tweet by calling on him to release security footage from the incident.
Meanwhile, Crooks is running for office in Ohio because, as she says, liars like Trump have made her join politics.
“Let’s clear this up for everyone. It’s liars like you in politics that have prompted me to run for office myself,” she tweeted.
Since the beginning of his presidential campaign, Trump has been accused by more than a dozen women of sexual misconduct.
