Trump Says FBI, DOJ Have Been Politicied by Democrats

President Donald Trump has attacked Department of Justice (DOJ) leaders early Friday morning, the reason being the ongoing pressure he gets from top officials advising him not to release the confidential memo in which the DOJ and FBI are accused of abusing their power.

“The top Leadership and Investigators of the FBI and the Justice Department have politicized the sacred investigative process in favor of Democrats and against Republicans – something which would have been unthinkable just a short time ago. Rank & File are great people!” Trump wrote on Twitter early Friday.

President Trump regularly confronts with the FBI regarding the investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential elections.

This time, Trump set the confrontation on a whole new level with him pointing out that the problem lays with top officials at the DOJ and FBI, adding that “Rank & File” employees are great for doing their job.

According to The Hill. the comment echoes Sean Hannity’s own word choice late Thursday night. While calling for the release of the memo, Hannity repeatedly criticized the FBI and DOJ but added: “not rank and file, we love you guys.”

The controversial memo that has been in the public focus since it was compiled by the GOP staff and given to House Intelligence chair Representative Devin Nunes might soon be released. Nunes claims the memo shows that the FBI and the DOJ have made illegal surveillance of Trump’s campaign officials.

The memo’s release has spread deep concerns across Washington D.C. as many argue whether its publication would pose national security concerns.

The memo has been handed over to the White House for a review before being released. It is expected that Trump will reach a decision on Friday.

White House official said Thursday that President Trump did not have any national security objections to releasing the memo and probably wouldn’t request to redact any material.
