Former Trump Spokesman to Testify Regarding Undisclosed Call Between Trump and Hicks

White House communications director Hope Hicks is accused by a former spokesman for President Donald Trump’s legal team, for planning to obstruct justice. Mark Corallo, who resigned from Trump’s legal team last summer, will testify to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation on Russian interference in the 2016 elections.

Corralo’s testimony concerns a previously undisclosed phone call between Trump and Hicks, that took place just after Donald Trump Jr. met with a Russian lawyer at Trump Tower in 2016.

According to The New York Times, Corallo plans to tell Mueller and his team that Hicks said during the call that emails from Trump Jr. about the meeting “will never get out,” prompting concerns that she could be obstructing justice, The New York Times reported.

Meanwhile lawyer for Hicks issued a denial to the newspaper.

“She never said that. And the idea that Hope Hicks ever suggested that emails or other documents would be concealed or destroyed is completely false,” Robert Trout in a statement.

The emails where Trump Jr expresses interest to meet with the Russian lawyer, who claims to have damaging information on Hillary Clinton, were eventually leaked.

“If it’s what you say I love especially later in the summer,” Trump Jr. wrote.

Trump’s administration previously stated that the meeting between Trump Jr. and the Russian lawyer was part of discussion for a Russian adoption policy.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is leading the investigation into possible collusion between Trump’s campaign and Russia. The investigation has already led to two arrests and two indictments.

The New York Times reports that now Mueller has been focused on how the Trump campaign sought to portray the Trump Tower meeting.

Meanwhile, Mueller is also seeking an interview with President Trump, who after trying to discredit him for a long period of time, has now agreed to sit for an interview under oath.
