Melania Won’t Accompany or Support Trump at Davos

First Lady Melania Trump won’t be joining President Donald Trump on his appearance at the World Economic Forum taking place in Davos, Switzerland.

Stephanie Grisham, the first lady’s spokeswoman, said in an interview with CNN said that Melania is going to miss the trip to Davos because of “scheduling and logistical issues.”

With the ongoing issue of the government shutdown, Trump’s attendance at the forum was also questionable. The White House stated that Trump will go only if the shutdown ends before that. With Trump signing a funding bill to end the shutdown on Monday night his attendance at Davos was confirmed.

Although Grisham said last week that the first lady will accompany President Trump to the gathering of global leaders and media stars as a show of support, it turns out that Melania might really be mad at Trump regarding reports that he had an affair with a pornstar in 2006, a year after they got married.

According to The Hill, Melania Trump hasn’t made a public statement since The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this month that Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen made a $130,000 payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels just before the 2016 election, in order for her to stay quiet about the alleged 2006 sexual encounter with Trump.

Although Cohen has denied the report, Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, told “In Touch” in a 2011 interview published last week that she had an affair with Trump after his marriage to Melania in 2005.

During an interview with the Associated Press on Monday, Vice President Mike Pence characterized the reports that Donald Trump engaged in an affair with an adult film actor as “baseless.” When asked about the relationship between Trump and Stephanie Clifford known as Stormy Daniels, Pence said that he is “not going to comment on the latest baseless allegations against the president.”
