White House Plans to Erase All Data From Voter Fraud Investigation

All data that was connected to President Trump’s voter fraud investigation will not be turned over to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) but is going to be erased by the White House, Politico reported this Tuesday.

Apparently, White House Director of Information Technology Charles Herndon stated in a court filing that the commission is going to destroy all voter data associated with the investigation, in spite of the White House saying last week that the DHS is going to handle the last part of the investigation.

Politico reported as well that Herndon also stated the investigation was not able to obtain any “preliminary findings,” although White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders suggested earlier that if there were any type of findings they would be sent to the Department of Homeland Security.

The Presidential Advisory Commission was formed by President Trump with its function to check on the Election Integrity last year after President Trump claimed, without any evidence, that millions of people voted illegally in 2016 presidential election and that it cost him the popular vote.

The Presidential Advisory Commission required all states to turn over their voter rolls as part of the investigation, but with no surprise many states refused to participate in the investigation.

Many lawsuits and the unwillingness of states to adhere to the requests of the commission resulted in the unsuccessful investigation which President Trump managed to dissolve last week.

Much criticism was targeted toward the commission, which was labeled as a partisan effort to support Trump’s unfounded claims and to suppress minority voters, The Hill reports.

When the commission was abolished by President Trump, several Democratic lawmakers praised the decision deriding the commission as a violation of voters’ rights.

Colorado Senator Michael Bennet called upon the DHS asking them, as he says, to “end this taxpayer-funded fishing expedition.
