Roy Moore: Deploy Military To Fortify Border With Mexico

Republican senatorial candidate Roy Moore wants President Donald Trump’s administration to deploy the military to fortify the border with Mexico. His statements come after the murder of a border agent and after the president urged once again that the wall should be built.

“I believe that we can stop illegal aliens from coming across our border within a matter of a week using the United States military to support the border patrol. That is not a violation of the Posse Comitatus Act. It has been done by numerous presidents,” Moore said.

The Posse Comitatus Act limits the federal government from using the military to enforce domestic law. According to Moore, the wall should be built and something should be done as soon as possible.

“And then we have the money, as soon as possible we can build a wall to stop these illegal aliens from coming across our border. I think we should act on these things and we should do them as soon as possible. We need border security and we can have border security by simply taking action to do it. But right now, you can’t get Congress moving except on things that they want for their own home districts,” he said.

Moore was speaking on a weekend talk radio program named “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio.” Among other things, he emphasized the Senate Republicans’ obstructionist positions, including Senator John McCain passing the deciding vote that killed the most recent ObamaCare repeal effort. According to Moore, his election is critical for enacting Trump’s legislative agenda.

Moore is in the middle of a scandal after at least eight women have accused him of sexually assaulting them or pursuing sexual relationships with them when they were teenagers and he was in his 30s.
