Sessions Considering Lie Detector Tests for NSC Staff

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is considering giving lie detector tests to the entire staff of the National Security Council (NSC) in an effort to remove leakers, Axios reports.

The attorney general’s idea is reportedly to have every NSC staffer interrogated about the leaked transcripts of phone conversations between President Donald Trump and world leaders.

Although it’s unclear if he actually plans to go through with the idea, Sessions has raised the subject with multiple people.

Leaks about Russian election interference have been a recurring burden for Trump, who this past summer criticized Sessions after the attorney general formally recused himself from the Russia investigation.

Last month, Sessions announced a government-wide crackdown on leakers, prompting Trump to once again praise his Justice Department head.
