President Donald Trump on Monday announced that he will nominate two former Republican lawmakers to posts in his administration, The Hill reports.
Former Representative Ann Marie Buerkle will be nominated to serve as the chairwoman of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, which she has been the acting director for since February.
The White House said Buerkle will also be nominated to serve as the Commissioner of the Consumer Product Safety Commission for a seven-year term that will start in October of 2018.
Former Representative Peter Hoekstra will be nominated to serve as the ambassador to the Netherlands. Buerkle represented New York in the House for one term after winning in the 2010 midterm elections. Hoekstra represented Michigan in the House from 1993 to 2011.
