The Trump Organization renewed more than 1,000 internet domains in recent weeks, including a pair that suggest the company is holding out hope at building a hotel in Moscow, Newsmax reports.
Politico reported that TrumpRussia.com and TrumpTowerMoscow.com are on the list of domains owned by the Trump Organization, as the company was first interested in opening a hotel in the Russian capital in the mid-1990s.
The practice of businesses owning dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of domains is not uncommon for a few reasons. One, companies like to plan ahead and prepare for any future products they might roll out, in this case hotels. Secondly, companies try to scoop up domains that would be embarrassing to the business (DonaldTrumpSucks.com is owned by the Trump Organization, for example), Newsmax adds.
Politico published a database that contains several hundred of the domains. On that list are CelebrityApprenticePoker.com, DonaldJTrumpSignatureCollectionVenezuela.com, and TrumpUniversityWealthBuilding.com. The aforementioned websites point to an error message and are not actually active.
President Donald Trump’s two adult sons Eric and Donald Jr. are running the Trump Organization while their father serves in the White House.
