GOP Congressman Walberg Says God Will “Take Care” of Climate Change

During a speech in Coldwater, Michigan, Republican Congressman Tim Walberg said that he believes “that if climate change is a real problem, God can fix it”.

“I believe there’s been climate change since the beginning of time. I think there are cycles. Do I think that man has some impact? Yeah, of course. Can man change the entire universe? No. Why do I believe that? Well, as a Christian, I believe that there is a creator in God who is much bigger than us. And I’m confident that, if there’s a real problem, he can take care of it”, Walberg said.

President Donald Trump announced his plans Thursday on pulling the country out of the Paris climate change agreement.

The latest developments would mark a dramatic turn from the Obama administration, which was instrumental in crafting the deal, while also making the country an outlier among the world’s nations, nearly all of who support the climate change accord.

Earlier, the Obama administration had promised a 26-28 percent cut in the country’s emissions by 2025, a pledge that was slammed by the Republicans as necessitating “expensive, job-killing regulations”.

Trump, who doubts the science behind climate change, has already launched the process of reversing American climate policies, especially the ones about the Paris landmark 2015 deal in which nearly 200 countries promised to address climate change.
