By allowing a “comprehensive” investigation into a confrontation between Border Patrol agents and illegal immigrants this week, the Biden administration claims it is avoiding a “rush to judgement” and may be attempting to avoid a repeat of the controversy surrounding “whipping” allegations that dogged the administration last year, Fox News informed.

He was referring to a situation on Monday in which a group of migrants from Venezuela illegally entered El Paso, Texas while carrying a big flag. Video shows agents controlling the throng by shooting pepper balls close to the migrants as they are being pushed back into the river.

CBP said that one group of Venezuelan protesters made an attempt to unlawfully cross the Rio Grande’s international border.

According to the agency, one of the people present hit an agent with a flagpole, while another threw rocks at them, injuring one of the agents. The Border Patrol then started using crowd-control strategies as a result of that.

The statement listed these precautions as using the permitted less-lethal force pepperball launching method. After that, the crowd split up and went back to Mexico.

The Office of Professional Responsibility at CBP stated that it was investigating the event.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which dubbed the incident “the latest in a long line of abuses carried out by CBP,” however, immediately condemned the incident.

The National Border Patrol Council expressed concern and told the organization to “go to hell” as a result.

Magnus said he was “watching reports” regarding the event in a separate statement he posted on Tuesday, hours after CBP’s initial announcement.

Magnus made a suggestion regarding his lack of clarity in his statements regarding the incident on Thursday.

Many people, he noted, have protested when inferences about past events have been made using incomplete or incorrect data.

He did not specify the incidents, but the Biden administration has been embroiled in a dispute that has persisted ever since migrants and Border Patrol officials clashed in Del Rio Sector last year.
