Gun Control Group from Arizona Promises Action Against those who Opposed Gun Control Bill

During this year’s midterm elections, a pro-gun control advocacy group founded by and named after former Democratic congresswoman from Arizona and gun violence survivor Gabby Giffords has vowed to take action against those members of Congress who opposed the recent gun control legislation signed into law by President Biden, Fox News informed.

The managing director of Giffords, Robin Lloyd, commended the Safer Communities Act and the 15 Republican senators who voted to pass it in an interview with Fox News Digital this week. She also emphasized the organization’s plans to spend $10 million this election cycle promoting gun control laws.

When asked if she felt Democrats’ focus on the issue of gun control could assist them, given their unpopularity and historical trends, had any hope of keeping control of the House of Representatives this November, Lloyd predicted those who supported the proposal would profit.

She said that in her opinion those who supported the federal legislation, will undoubtedly bring it up during the campaigns and that she believes that their supporters will be pleased to learn that they supported it.

Despite the bill’s passing, Lloyd claimed that the message her organization was receiving from Americans across the nation—including voters from both political parties, independents, and gun owners—was that there was a “overwhelming demand for action.”

Fox News Digital contacted 19 up-and-coming House Democrats earlier this week to inquire about their support for President Biden’s proposed ban on “assault weapons,” but only two responded: one opposed and one in favor.

When questioned, Lloyd refrained from commenting as to why so few Democrats would oppose the idea, but he did state that Giffords was in favor of outlawing “any semiautomatic long rifle that can accept a big capacity magazine.”
