Following the Supreme Court’s decision reversing Roe v. Wade, which has protected the abortion as a constitutional right since 1973, pro-choice organizations have planned significant election spending to boost Democrats in the midterms, Fox News informed.

The National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) reiterated its collaboration with EMILY’s List and Planned Parenthood to provide funding to pro-choice political candidates this election season in a news release that was published nearly immediately after the SCOTUS decision.

To assure the election of proponents of reproductive freedom across the board in the 2022 midterm elections, NARAL, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, and EMILY’s List established a cooperation in May.

The statement continued, saying that now the stakes are higher than ever, adding that until Election Day the NARAL’s members will be organizing from to make sure that their leaders reflect the beliefs of the US citizens who stand in support to the legal right to abortion.

More than a month after a leaked version of Justice Samuel Alito’s opinion signaled the court would strike down federal protections for abortion, the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision was made on Friday.

Pro-choice organizations have increased their activities and protests since the leaked ruling, and on Friday they made it plain that they intended to support the campaigns of politicians who will “extend abortion rights.”

Outside the Supreme Court on Friday, demonstrators responded in real time to the significant ruling.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-New York, joined the demonstrators outside the court, calling on the public to join the protest by shouting “into the streets.”

Pro-life activists welcomed the historic decision in the midst of the demonstrations.

Given that politicians from both political parties wasted little time in publicly reacting to the reversal, the contentious issue may play a significant role in the midterm elections in November’s.
