Ocasio-Cortez Advises Instagram Followers to Test Drugs for Fentanyl

On Instagram, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., warned her followers to test drugs for fentanyl before consuming them, especially MDMA, often known as ecstasy, Fox News informed.

According to the AOC Instagram story she said that drugs were also affected by the supply chain.

According to studies, approximately half of the ecstasy pills do not contain any MDMA. Fentanyl is the most dangerous substance to be on the lookout for, Ocasio-Cortez added.

The Instagram story includes a link to a document from the New York City Department of Health called “HOW TO TEST YOUR DRUGS USING FENTANYL TEST STRIPS,” which explains how to test drugs for the fatal drug. Fentanyl is found in a variety of drugs, including heroin, cocaine, crack, and ketamine.

The guide says that people can lower the risk of overdose if they are aware if their drugs contain fentanyl.

The guide explains how to test drugs using a variety of ways, including dissolving them in water as well as using a test strip, both of which can be found at many nonprofit needle exchange programs. The guide also instructs that after doing this people can drink the drugs, snort them with a clean nasal spray device, or wait until the water evaporates before using them.

According to the Drug Enforcement Agency, MDMA is a Schedule I drug, which means it has “no currently accepted medicinal use and a significant potential for misuse.” Marijuana, on the other hand, is still classified as a Schedule I substance, despite the fact that it is legal in many states for recreational and medical purposes. The Controlled Substances Act makes all of the other substances listed in the NYC guide unlawful.

Ocasio-Cortez has long called for loosening drug prohibitions in the United States to allow for medical study into possible remedies for conditions such as PTSD and depression.
